Fried Fish with little oil

Hi, everyone today I am cooking the fried fish- the Indian way and the recipe is Quite easy to follow.
First of all let us take the slices of any fish(1 kg) that you have,I am taking white fish slices.
clean them well with water and drain them well.

  • add salt to your taste
  • add 1/2 tsp of red pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp of coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp of cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon full of ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon full of lemon juice

mix them well and apply them on the slices of fish and let stand for about an hour in the refrigerator.

  • take a cup of all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
  • a little salt to taste

mix them well and dip the above slices of fish in this mixture.
Take a nonstick pan and add 2-3 tablespoonful of olive oil or canola oil in it and heat it on high heat.
Place the slices of fish on this oil and cook the fish until golden brown on both sides adjusting the flame to prevent the fish from burning.
serve it on a white plate with some garnishing with cilantro and mint leaves and enjoy your crisp ,hot and delicious fish.

Spinach and Lentils curry

Hello everybody,every now and then i shall be posting recipes on this blog too,other than my blog at blogger.com,called Indian dishes recipes.How to prepare spinach and lentils together?
Let us learn that  today.
The Ingredients required for this vegetarian dish are:

  1. First off all let us take 1/2 a cup of lentils or toor dal.
  2. 1 bunch of Spinach, washed and chopped well.
  3. 2-3 greenchillies.
  4. cumin seeds(roasted).
  5. 2 tomatoes.
  6. 1 small stem of curry leaves.
  7. 1 onion,chopped.
  8. 5-6 Garlic pieces.
  9. tamarind ,the size of a big marble.
  10. 1/2 a teaspoonful of turmeric powder.

Ingredients for seasoning:

  1. 1-2 tablespoonful of cooking oil.
  2. 1 teaspoonful of mustard seeds.
  3. 1 teaspoonful of cumin seeds.
  4. 2 crushed pieces of Garlic.
  5. 6-7 thin slices of onion.
  6. 1 pinch of asafoetida.
  7. 1 teaspoonful of curry leaves.

Method of preparation:

  • Put all the ingredients into a pressure cooker and cook well until the lentils are nicely mashed.
  • Grind this mixture coarsely in a blender.
  • Next,for seasoning:
  • Take 1 tablespoonful of oil in a pan and heat.
  • add the mustard seeds.
  • next add the cumin seeds and let them splatter.
  • add the crushed garlic pieces.
  • next add the onion and fry.
  • add the asafoetida.
  • Followed by the curry leaves.
  • Mix it with the contents in the blender and heat it for a little while.

The resulting dish with delicious aroma is ready and is also called Dal in India,this type of dal is made in south India and can be eaten with white rice and fried potatoes or any kababs as side dish.

Frying potatoes with less oil

An easy indian side dish of potato is what many people want,to quickly finish off preparing the meal.It is not at all hard to learn this recipe,and yet it is fast and healthy vegetarian food,that many prefer to eat with their chapati,roti,or naan or even Rice and sambar.

Ingredients required for this recipe are :

  1. Take around 5-6 medium sized potatoes,Sliced or cut as you prefer.
  2. 1 teaspoonful of chilly powder.
  3. 2 teaspoonful of coriander powder.
  4. 1 teaspoonful cumin powder.
  5. 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric.
  6. salt to taste.
  7. 1-2 tablespoonful, Ginger and garlic paste.
  8. 1 tablespoonful of chick pea flour(besan).
  9. 1 teaspoonful lemon juice.
  10. Mix all the ingredients well.

Method of cooking:

Delicious Potato side dish

  • Take 2 tablespoonful of cooking oil in a nonstick pan.
  • Add the above mixture onto it and cook on medium to high heat.
  • Keep turning them over until you see them turn golden brown.

Yummy, delicious and crispy potato side dish is ready for you to eat with roti, naan,etc.
I love to have this with white rice-sambar mixture or rasam mixture.
